Can't upgrade account

I've tried to upgrade my account to premium several dozen times now, but I get errors every time I do. Usually the error is that the password can be at most 16 characters long. I've changed my password several times and knocked it down to below 16 characters, and back up to 16 characters, but I still get this error.

I'm not sure of the rules but are you using special characters like *?
