Access by Minors

During the first six years of Solo's existence; there was a notice on the front page that required those who chose to view the material on Solo to affirm that they were over the age of 18. That requirement has been removed. I know of no law that prohibits minors from viewing the material on the on Solo site, with the exception of the content within our adults only section, which is clears marked as so.

Since the goal of the site is to promote positive attitudes toward sexuality, and for most people sexuality shows up at the door in the early teens, the site needs to be available to minors. The site does, as I have said, focus on masturbation. One of the site's main messages is that masturbation is positive. It is positive for a number of reasons, but generally, it is positive because it only involves yourself. When people, particularly minors, engage in sexual activities with others, the likelihood of negative sexual experiences is much higher.

Because access is permitted to minors, Solo has the responsibility to protect them at all costs. For this reason Solo strictly prohibits contributors from including any personally identifying or contact information on the site.
